Michael Schumacher ski trip disaster

It has already been flying across the media through every way possible; arguably the best known F1 driver is fighting for his life in a French hospital.
The seven-time champion got himself airlifted to the hospital after a nasty accident whilst skiing with his 14 year old son and two others.
“He is fighting for his life,” anesthesiologist Jean-Francois Payen told a news conference on Monday morning. “We judge him to be in a very serious situation. We cannot tell what the outcome will be yet. We are working hour by hour, but it’s too early to say what is going to happen.” Understandably, the hospital has also stated that they are unable to provide constant data about his condition, but what we do know at the moment is that he is in a medical coma.
Luckily he was wearing a helmet, otherwise that may have been a completely different story altogether. I, at Young Petrolhead blog wish Schumacher and his family the very best, and I really hope he makes a very speedy recovery.

Update, 1st January 2014
Reports are now showing that Michael is showing 'slight signs of improvement'. This of course means that he is not at the end of the tunnel, but he is starting to head into the right direction. The road is a long one for him, but if there's anyone capable of fighting the condition, it's definitely a seven time world champion. Once again, I continue to wish him and his family the very best.

Update, 3rd January 2014
Indications from the media suggest that he is in a "stable, but critical condition". Whilst that may not be the most amazing news ever considering the word 'critical' was used, stable does give the world a slight sigh of relief. I hope he pulls through and the way things are currently suggests this could be a real possibility. However, we must not get over-excited; this is a very long road Schumacher has to go through. Stay strong!

Update, 18th Jamuary 2014
Updates are now posted on a separate, newer post that is labelled under a news blip. This post is getting old and consequentially getting lost within more recent posts. The first post will have the date: Saturday 18th January, 2014. This post will no longer be updated should any further news arrive. Read the later post.
