Listen to the brand new Lexus RC-F

The Lexus vs BMW battle is well and truly on, if this video clip is anything to go by. In the age of downsizing and fitting a blower to your motor, Lexus has stuck old school and fitted a stonking great 5.0 litre V8 under the bonnet. Which, if you watch the video, turns out to be very good news indeed.

However, this barely scratches the surface of what the new Super Lexus will be like. The big and obvious question is can it beat the holy grail that is the new M4? You may be eager to point out "Yes", since the Beemer only has a straight six, but remember, BMW knows their straight sixes like David Cameron knows how to run the country. Oh, wait, that doesn't work...

The instruments themselves are an obvious reference to the slightly bonkers LFA, but personally I think there's a little too much being displayed all at once. Oh, I'm sure in a menu, though a sub-menu, another sub-menu and another sub-menu, there may be a way to simplify the display. But it's almost as though the speed readout was added as an afterthought.

Still, who cares when you have that sound? BMW, this may not be a walk in the park for you...
